Two Types of Containment for Mold Remediation

For smaller jobs, a limited containment strategy is adequate. Polyethylene sheets seal off access to the infected area. A fan exhausts air from the room through a tube creating negative pressure. The fan creates a condition where molds cannot leave the region, and crews safely perform their work. 

For large projects where infestations extend through whole sides of buildings, a full containment system is necessary. Two layers of Polyethylene sheets seal the work zone, and all air vents and ducts are also sealed. Negative pressure keeps the area secure and traps the mold where crews can clean it. 

Failure to Contain Mold
